Martin Jordan and Helen Urquhart Terzieff Scholarship Endowment

This scholarship was established by Martin and Helen Urquhart Terzieff (pronounced TAIR-Z-F) in order to help those who have demonstrated both ability and need at the Eastern Washington University Foundation. They devoted their lives to their chosen careers and were staunch believers in a strong work ethic. Martin was born on September 5, 1932, in Metaline Falls, Wash. He completed his basic college education at Eastern Washington College of Education (now Eastern Washington University) in 1959 and later did graduate work at EWCE, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and Brown University. He retired after 35 years of teaching secondary science and math. During his career he was a classroom teacher, science department chair, math department chair, and secondary math coordinator. Helen was born on September 29, 1939, in Odessa, Wash. She graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane and became AANC certified in medical-surgical nursing. During her career she worked as a registered nurse in acute care settings and in home health care agencies. Helen passed away at the age of 62. Martin passed away a year later.
