Maggie Perez Endowed Nursing Scholarship

This annual scholarship was established in memory of Magdalena “Maggie” Perez by community friends and corporate partners for her outstanding commitment to helping students from disadvantage backgrounds advance their academic skills toward graduation from the WSU College of Nursing. Maggie worked for the College in Yakima from 2001-2010. She coordinated tutoring programs and matched students with community and national nursing mentors. She passed away on July 4, 2010 at the age of 69 after a long illness with cancer. Maggie truly helped students achieve beyond obstacles and left a tremendous legacy behind.
