Dennis and Lowella Jones Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Denny and Lowella Jones and reflects their belief that nurses will play an increasingly important role in the nation’s health care. Denny was raised in Spokane and attended WSU, graduating with a BA in Business Administration in 1964. He completed Air Force ROTC and became an officer after training. He flew fighter-reconnaissance and was an instructor in advanced pilot training. After a tour in Vietnam, and earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and 11 Air Medals, Denny joined Delta Airlines as a B767 pilot in 1973. Lowella was raised in Ellensubrg and also graduated from WSU with a BA degree in Secondary Education and History. Denny and Lowella were married in 1964. With frequent moves in the Air Force, she substitute taught and later became a top real estate broker.
