Stanley and Bernice Fahlgren Fund

This scholarship was established in the name of Carol Fahlgren Crispin, daughter of Stanley and Bernice Fahlgren, through the Inland Northwest Community Foundation. Carol was a graduate of the WSU Intercollegiate Nursing Center in 1973, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing science. She started her career in nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital, then the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. Always a high achiever, she earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Whitworth College, and then her Master’s in Nursing at the University of Portland. Carol taught at the College of Nursing for a number of years. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and died March 8, 1990. Stan and Bernice highly valued education, and saw it as the key element to a successful life.
